Due to Covid-19, UHS and UET Lahore have developed a joint strategy to conduct MDCAT 2020 online for admission to medical and dental colleges from Punjab. Vice-Chancellor of UET Lahore Prof. Mansoor Sarwar arrived at UHS and held a meeting with Vice-Chancellor UHS Prof. Javed Akram, Senior Staff, and Faculty members.
VC UET Lahore said that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, UET Lahore is conducting ECAT 2020 online in collaboration with Virtual University. For applicants’ practice, a mock test will also be carried out at the end of this month before the actual ECAT. The principles of social distance are dealt with in the computer room.
VC UHS says that the collaboration with UET Lahore is a great experience to Lahore to conduct an MDCAT 2020 online for admission in Punjab’s medical colleges. Prof. Javed Akram said that 80,000 candidates are expected to participate in MDCAT. It is a legal requirement to conduct entrance test for admission in professional institutions. Because of Corona, the safety of the candidates is the priority, said Prof. Javed Akra.
Both institutes have also decided on the joint use of the Entrance Test Question Bank. According to the VC UHS, approval from HEC would be needed for a joint strategy of online MDCAT 2020. He further added that Punjab University would also be a part of this project.
