Let’s get ready to rumble! Get together with your mates and friends in the Black Temple and Battle for Mount Hyjal raids for WoW TBC.
The Black Temple and Battle for Mount Hyjal raids are finally part of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Classic’s roster! As TBC continues to add content to the ever-growing roster of dungeons and raids, players will be able to hop back into a familiar fray with these two new additions. Following the release of the Overlords of Outland patch which allowed players to take down the infamous Lady Vashj and Kael’thas, they can now face the fearsome Archimonde alongside the poster child of TBC, Illidan Stormrage himself in the flesh. So just how can you start the two raids and farm WoW TBC Gold/TBC items? Let’s find out.
The Black Temple Raid
The Black Temple was one of the most anticipated raid releases for WoW TBC, and it’s where players must fight their way through the fortress to get a chance to go head-to-head with Lord Illidan Stormrage, who awaits them on top of the instance. The Black Temple is famous not only because of Illidan, but it’s also due to the legendary TBC items that he drops. One of these items is The Warglaves of Azzinoth, a weapon that’s desired by most melee classes. Other than that, the Black Temple raid is a 9-boss instance where players will fight against some of the greater terrors that Outland has to offer. The raid is part of the third phase of Burning Crusade Classic as part of the five-content phase plan.
The Black Temple raid is already available since January 17, and there are a couple of requirements that players need to consider before heading in. To traverse the hallowed halls of the corrupted sanctuary, they will need to obtain the Medallion of Karabor – this requires you to complete a series of different quests. If players have sided with the Scythers, they must speak to Arcanist Thelis who’s at the Sanctum of the Stars. For those aligned with the Aldor, they must seek out Anchorite Ceyla at the Altar of Sha’tar. From there, players must complete 16 quests.
The Battle for Mount Hyjal Raid
The Battle for Mount Hyjal raid was added on January 27 – just 10 days after the release of the Black Temple. A player’s journey will begin in the Caverns of Time in Tenaris. The requirements for players to join raid are the following:
- Players must at least be level 70
- Players must be attuned
To be attuned, players will need to be Revered by the Keepers of Time. They can achieve a Revered reputation by playing the Black Morass and Old Hillsbrad Foothills dungeons. Once they’ve done that, players can then travel to the Caverns of Time and speak to Soridormi to receive “The Vials of Eternity” questline. After part of the quest, they must defeat Lady Vashj who’s in the Serpentshine Cavern, and Kael’thas Suntstrider in Tempest Keep. When players have done this, they’ll be able to access the Battle for Mount Hyjal.
The Battle for Mount Hyjal is a 25-man raid instance that is set in the Caverns of Time. If we were to measure its difficulty, we’d say it’s slightly below that of Black Temple. The first two Tier 6 set tokens can be won here and defeating enemies in the Hyjal Summit yields reputation with The Scale of the Sands, a secretive subgroup of the bronze dragonflight that’s led by Soridormi. Besides the usual raid denizens like Skeletal warriors/mages and trolls, players will have to do battle against five bosses: Rage Winterchill, Anetheron, Kaz’rogal, Azgalor, and finally, Archimonde.
All trash mobs and bosses can be handled by having two or three tanks in the team; no special composition is needed. Since there are quite a lot of mobs attacking in trash waves, good AoE tanking is required. As for the bosses, most of them have AoE abilities that require the raid to spread out, lest they perish. A good tip is for the raid master to put all ranged damage dealers and healers in a wide circle around the main tank position for them to be well-protected. Some of the loot that players can earn in the Mount Hyjal raid is the Tempest of Chaos, Apostle of Argus, and Savior’s Grasp (this is only for Archimonde).
Conclusion
That’s how you access the all-new, but somewhat familiar Black Temple and Battle for Mount Hyjal raids in World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic. Considering that we’re still in the middle of the five-phase content extravaganza that Blizzard is planning, expect a whole lot more “remade” raids and TBC items in the future.
