What is your face shape?
Pull your hair away from the contours of your face and look at your face in the mirror. Observe the contours and shape of your face and head closely. There are seven main face shapes. The type of glasses that will look good on each face is different.
Oval face shape
An oval face shape is generally considered to be ideal due to its balanced proportions. To maintain the natural balance of the oval face shape, go for glasses that are either wide or walnut in shape and not too deep.
Heart-shaped face
If you have been endowed with heart-shaped face, you should go for glasses which would reduce the weight at the top of your face. Go for glasses that are broad at the bottom. You can go for light-colored, thin glasses or rimless glasses which have an airy appearance.
Oblong face shape
If you have been endowed with an oblong face, your face is longer than your face width. Go for glasses that have more depth than the width so that your face appears shorter and more balanced. You can also go with prescription safety glasses that have decorating or contrasting templates.
Square face shape
If you have a square-shaped face, you have a broad forehead and a strong jawline. Go for narrow glasses and glasses which have more width than depth, as well as oval glasses.
Diamond face shape
This is the rarest face shape. If you are endowed with a diamond face shape, you have broad cheekbones and a narrow forehead. Go for rimless, oval, or cat eye glasses.
Round face shape
Having a round face does not mean that you can pull off round glasses. The round face shape has the width and length of almost the same proportion and pretty much no angles. The purpose of the glasses here would be to make your face look thinner and longer. Therefore go for angular, narrow glasses which can lengthen your face. You should also go with glasses that have a clear bridge and rectangle or glasses that are wider.
Base-down triangle
If you have a base-down triangle face, then you have a narrow forehead and more width in the chin and cheek areas. To emphasize the narrow upper part of your face, go for glasses that are heavily on color. You can also go for cat eye glasses.
