How the Road Side Assistance Program Works

If your car breaks down, the first thing you should do is move it to a safe location, like a breakdown lane or parking lot. Next, call the 24/7 toll-free number 1800 309 3916. An IDFC FIRST Bank representative will ask you for your name, the last four digits of your credit/debit card number, and the last four digits of your mobile number registered with the bank. Once your information is verified, a roadside assistance fleet vehicle will be dispatched to your location.

When the fleet vehicle arrives, you will need to show the driver a valid government ID (Aadhaar Card, Voter Card, Driving License, PAN Card, etc.) or vehicle ID (Registration Certificate, Insurance Papers, etc.) that matches the name on your IDFC FIRST Bank card. After the ID match, the driver can begin providing the roadside assistance service you need.

Services Covered Under the Program

IDFC FIRST Bank cardholders can receive up to 4 complimentary roadside assistance services per year, with coverage available across India. Services offered in the program include:

  • Battery jump starts
  • Flat tyre changes
  • Fuel delivery (up to 5 litres)
  • Vehicle lockout service
  • Vehicle towing – for mechanical issues/accidents
  • Local taxi/hotel arrangements
  • Legal/medical referrals

Additional Charges

  • Towing beyond the initial 50 km range, charged at ₹50 per km + tolls/taxes
  • Fuel delivery – fuel costs
  • Locksmith fees to make new keys
  • Taxi transportation fees
  • Hotel charges for accommodation

The program aims to provide basic emergency assistance to get you back up and running. Any charges beyond the initial free services are the cardholder’s responsibility, giving you control over any extra costs.

Exclusions from Coverage

While IDFC FIRST Bank cardholders enjoy extensive coverage, some situations are excluded from the roadside assistance program:

  • Vehicles not properly maintained/registered legally

  • Overloaded vehicles carrying excessive weight or passengers
