The DiSTI Corporation is the leading provider of Virtual Maintenance Training solutions. We have developed a cost-effective and innovative Virtual Maintenance Trainer (VMT) designed to streamline the learning and practicing of maintenance operations.
DiSTI’s VMT enables users to increase their efficiency, safety, and easy monitoring & tracing of performed operations. It assists in reducing equipment downtime and the risk of errors by offering contextual information.
The Virtual Maintenance Trainer (VMT) is a simulation-based training tool used by airlines, MROx, universities, and training organizations worldwide. It is designed to reduce training costs and increase operational efficiency by training how to manage aircraft malfunctions.
DiSTI’s VMT enables maintenance technicians to explore the aircraft using the fully functional virtual flight deck and virtual aircraft. It allows them to navigate equipment bays and remove components to see real-time results.
VE Studio® is globally recognized as the most robust development platform for creating 3D virtual training solutions. It is one of the best custom virtual and augmented reality application development service providers.
Leveraging DiSTI’s VMT enables users to integrate with enterprise databases and learn management systems seamlessly. It allows you to conduct accurate time monitoring of multiple trainees.
DiSTI’s maintenance training solutions and software reduce the time spent in the actual aircraft maintenance and migrate your training course to a controlled classroom environment.
Training maintenance operators is crucial to ensure the excellent working of systems and increase their lifespan. VMT is ideal for practicing troubleshooting procedures, studying systems theory, conducting simulated “return to service” tests, and more. Additionally, it enables organizations to meet regulatory requirements.
A Virtual Maintenance Trainer addresses the lack of availability of an entire system and reduces the risk of damage while offering an alternative solution to train operators. Virtual Maintenance Trainers provide new perspectives that conventional training often fails, including developing and preparing equipment replicas.
With VE Studio® Software, you can take advantage of the latest developments in Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, desktop, and mobile technologies. Develop and deploy VE Studio® projects to any device, anywhere. The flexibility is yours.
VE Studio® leads the Virtual Maintenance Training Industry with its proven database architecture, development processes, and productivity tools, which are available to customers immediately.
VE Studio® combines development workflow best practices with innovative tools and components that make building complex virtual training applications more accessible, faster, and less expensive.
The DiSTI Corporation has built a Virtual Maintenance Trainer that allows students to familiarize themselves and practice maintenance tasks before entering the aircraft. The Western Army National Guard Aviation Training Site has introduced an of its kind VMT for the UH-72A Light Helicopter Repairer Course at the Silverbell Army Heliport.
With over 20 LUH-72 Lakotas, the Arizona Army National Guard and the Western Army National Guard Aviation Training Site (WAATS) utilize these aircraft to assist civil authorities. With the assistance of U.S. Customs and Border Patrol along the southwest border, these aircraft require regular maintenance at a higher standard than most army aircraft.
Since the LUH-72 is a Federal Aviation Administration-registered aircraft owned by the Army and the Army National Guard, it must adhere to the FAA standards of flight safety, which makes the training and maintenance even more stringent and strictly monitored.
As the only UH-72A Light Helicopter virtual trainer, DiSTI’s VMT aids the training program for maintainers from the Army National Guard, Reserve, and Active Duty components. The Virtual Maintenance Trainer offers a virtual environment and an interactive workspace ideal for practical exercise.
The VMT supports the performance of UH-72A maintenance tasks to optimum standards. Utilizing DiSTI’s maintenance training solutions, the Army is equipped with the ability to conduct training on large screens, desktop-size screens, as well as mobile devices.
The trainer was implemented at the WAATS in Marana, Arizona, in early 2016 and witnessed its first class of trainees graduating that June. The Army exercised option year 2 of Interim Contractor Support (ICS) from the U.S. Army for the UH-72A Lakota Virtual Maintenance Trainer (VMT).
DiSTI’s UH-72A VMT development utilized the power of DiSTI’s VE Studio™ software tools that provide an end-to-end solution for requirements analysis and traceability, design, development, and testing.
Utilizing learner-centric teaching strategies and technology, the repair course offers instructions on 66 essential maintenance tasks via a familiar digital platform that connects with the new generation of soldiers.
DiSTI’s VMT teaches nearly 100 students annually and serves as a reference point for more than 150 student pilots and other aircraft maintainers. The VMT would include multiple workstations for students and instructors, providing the capability to manage a class of 12 at regular intervals.
The Virtual Maintenance Trainer software provides an advanced error-tracking capability that dynamically classifies and reclassifies mistakes made by the trainees while rating their performance, providing guidance for improvement.
