5 Simple Techniques To Stay Hydrated While Working From Home

5 Simple Techniques To Stay Hydrated While Working From Home

by Cherie McCord

Working from home can be challenging. There are plenty of distractions and it is easy to get involved in something else. In most cases, you’re not being watched constantly, which means you can get away with not being productive all the time. Of course, if you’re working for yourself it’s you that suffers the most from this.

However, one of the biggest issues with working from home is that you forget to drink. In the office, people generally take it in turns to get drinks and there is almost always one on your desk. This isn’t the same at home and you need to develop your own techniques for staying hydrated.

  1. Add A Water Supply To Your Home Office

The best way to stay hydrated is to make sure you have access to high-quality water all the time. You can do this by installing a water cooler in your home office. Or, you can simply extend your plumbing and use a dedicated supply of RO water. You’ll be able to grab water whenever you want and stay hydrated.

  1. Keep a bottle on your desk

To make sure you keep drinking all the time it’s a good idea to invest in a reusable water bottle. This is better for your health and the environment. You can fill it up from your dedicated office supply and then keep the bottle on your desk. Your aim is to take a sip regularly, ensuring you keep drinking water throughout the day.

It works because the bottle is right in front of you all the time. If you’re still having trouble meeting your hydration goals despite these changes, you may want to consider Madison IV therapy. Treatment quickly and fully hydrates you so you can feel your best.

  1. Set reminders

If you’re still finding it difficult to drink enough water then try setting reminders on your phone or even on your desktop, whichever works better for you. Set one for every 20-30 minutes and this will remind you to get a glass of water and drink it.

Most people that try this approach find that they quickly lose the need for reminders as drinking water becomes automatic. It’s said that you can create a habit in just 8-12 weeks.

  1. Avoid dehydrating substances

If you’re trying to stay hydrated then it makes sense to avoid substances that dehydrate you. Coffee is the most obvious thing you’ll consume regularly. But, you should also avoid salty foods and alcohol. Although it’s questionable why you would be drinking alcohol at work.

  1. Have Liquid foods

Finally, to help you stay hydrated consider which foods have high water content. Eating soups and other products that have plenty of water in them means you’re hydrating while eating and it’s effortless. There’s no better way to stay hydrated.

It can help to create a journal. You can record what you ate and drank during the day You’ll find it helps you to see where you are missing opportunities to drink and how your current habits affect your hydration potential.

The journal will help you to develop new habits which are better for your hydration levels and your health.
