Prawns have been a popular seafood option for centuries and it’s easy to understand why—this couldn’t be truer in Australia. Not only do they have a unique flavour and texture, but they’re also incredibly versatile. From a simple boiled prawn to a spicy stir-fry, the possibilities are endless.

While prawns are often used in traditional dishes, there are numerous ways to use them in the kitchen pantry that are a bit less common. Consider these additional reasons why your grocery list should always include Australian prawns.

Make a prawn-based sauce

Add some seasonings and sauces to the pot and let it simmer for a few minutes until everything is cooked through. Serve the pasta with some freshly grated parmesan cheese and a sprinkle of chopped parsley for a delicious dinner.

How about a delicious and comforting soup with our beloved prawns? To make a prawn soup, simply cook the prawns in a pan with some oil or butter and then add them to a pot of stock or broth. Add some vegetables and seasonings to the pot and let it simmer until everything is cooked through. Serve the soup with some crusty bread for a truly comforting meal.
