3 Ways To Become a Better Gamer

3 Ways To Become a Better Gamer

by Cherie McCord

We’ve all peaked in our gaming careers at least once or twice. Unfortunately, the very definition of peaking is what can lead to frustration as a gamer. One day you can clip on a whole lobby and get a quad feed, and then the next day you play about the worst you’ve ever played. In today’s article, we’re going to discuss three ways that you can hone in on your consistency during your gaming sessions, with a focus on “Jinx Shifters from GGD.” These strategies will help you make those clutch moments a bit more frequent, regardless of the game you prefer to play.

Our team will break down our three favority methods for improving while gaming. This includes practicing, being composed, and being outside of your comfort zone. Let’s dive into it!

Table of Contents

  • Practice Makes Perfect
  • Composure
    • 1. Practice (Yes, again)
    • 2. Stay calm when you’re losing
    • 3. Make sure to take breaks periodically
  • Leave your Comfort Zone
  • Final Thoughts – Just Have Fun

Practice Makes Perfect

In order to become a better gamer, you’ll need to practice. It’s easy to get into the mindset that you’re already a good gamer, but that doesn’t mean you’re a great one. Focus on learning new mechanics and playing with people who are better than you as often as you can.

In fact, if you’re looking to improve, it’s best to play with other people who are better than you, because you’ll be able to see how you stack up against them, and they’l be able to point out flaws in your playstyles that you may not have noticed.

Composure

Another way to become a better gamer is to be composed. It’s easy to get frustrated when you lose a game. Composure is one of the key reasons that CBD has grown in popularity in the esports community. Now we’re not saying you need to try some CBD Flower to get better, we’re just focusing on the fact that the key reason composure is important is that it will allow you to process situations consistently – good or bad. Below are some quick tips:

1. Practice (Yes, again)

Not only will this help you improve your mechanical abilities, but this will also help you become used to the variety of situations you may encounter in games. If you’re used to whatever may get thrown at you, you minimize the chances of you throwing the game!

2. Stay calm when you’re losing

It can be frustrating when making mistakes – we all make them. Some make more than others, and it can be especially frustrating when your team was depending on you. The best way to improve is to look at it from a logical standpoint. Take a deep breath, and ask yourself what went right and what went wrong, and what you’ll do differently next time.

Note it down, and move on to the next game.

3. Make sure to take breaks periodically

Taking a break is one of the easiest ways to regain your composure after a rough match, or long series of matches. It’s easy to get sucked into a game, lose track of time, and get excessively involved. One of the easiest ways to snap back to reality is to take periodic breaks.

Step outside, grab some fresh air, and walk around a bit. Think of this as a reset. Once relaxed and refreshed, take a brief second to process how the session went! Then if you’re feeling up to the task – hop back in!

Leave your Comfort Zone

Finally, one of the best ways to become a better gamer is to be outside of your comfort zone. If you’re in your comfort zone, it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to make any improvements. If you only put yourself in a set amount of situations, say, playing one game mode and one weapon type only, you’re limiting your exposure to other situations and methods of playing the game.

Now, we’re not saying go get an eyepatch and play left handed, what we’re saying is try some new playstyles or mechanics out. You’ll expose yourself to potential new skills that you make be able to incorporate into how you play.

Or, change up your routine a bit. Hop into ranked games right when you get on! You never know until you try, you may be surprised by how much you improve when leaving your coomfort zone.

Final Thoughts – Just Have Fun

It’s frustrating trying to improve as a gamer, but the thing to remember is regardless of how fast you improve, remember it’s just a game and to have fun!

In fact, the best way to improve as a gamer is to just have fun and enjoy yourself.

We’re not saying that you should be reckless or make careless mistakes, we’re saying that you should be having fun while improving on them. This is what makes the esports community so special, you can learn from each other, and be able to enjoy yourself while doing it.
