Being a Dad and a Coach Isn’t Easy
I knew that being a dad would be tough, but I wasn’t quite prepared for all of the surprise obligations that it would bring! I am a loving father and want to be as much a part of my kids’ lives as possible, but at the same time, it’s easy to get a bit too involved.
For the last two years, I’ve been coaching my oldest son’s baseball team, and it’s like having a whole other family. I’m the father figure and role model! As much as I enjoy it, I’ve thought of throwing in the towel, especially when the pressure mounts—some of the other parents feel that their own children aren’t getting roles as important as pitcher or first baseman. Still, I haven’t given up because I know it would break everyone’s hearts if I did!
Getting Let Go from Jobs
Life is full of surprises, and I’ve gone through a number of jobs since I’ve had children. The feeling of uncertainty between positions can be quite stressful—you can’t force someone to hire you, and you can’t force a boss to not fire you. Still, life carries on!
The good news is that, over the last few years, job hunting has become easier to navigate, and every time I get hired, I hope it’s the last time that I’ll ever have to look for a new job. The process doesn’t get any less difficult, but I’ve persisted, and by the time my kids are older, I’m sure it’ll be simple to maintain a full-time job alongside a fulfilling personal life!
I Love My Kids, But They Sure Are a Handful
I wish I earned money for the job that is raising my kids! When I come home from a long day at the office, it’s time to put on my dad cap and work even harder.
My boys are wonderful, and I love them dearly, but no one—not even me! —is unbreakable. It can be especially overwhelming to take them to and from school, practice, friends’ houses, and doctor appointments. Still, I know that, because of my dedication, they’ll grow up to be happier, healthier people.
Unwinding With Board and Video Games
With all the anxieties of being a father, it’s important to take the edge off once in a while. I can’t be running around 24/7—that would drive me crazy!
Letting loose with some leisurely board games is a fantastic way to have fun and connect with the kids. I like to play challenging games with the boys, like chess, checkers, and Monopoly. Of course, like other kids their age, they also adore video games, so I occasionally join in the fun. It’s the perfect opportunity to blow off steam and enjoy sweet familial company!
Revitalizing My Appearance with a Male Facelift
About a year ago, I noticed that age and stress were starting to take a toll on the way I looked. Every morning, I’d look in the mirror and see all kinds of jowls, folds, and wrinkles, and couldn’t believe that I no longer looked like my younger self. I needed a change!
So, I did some research and scheduled a male facelift with an excellent plastic surgeon in New York City. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I look and feel like my old self again, and tackling every day is that much easier thanks to the newfound confidence!
If a facelift is not your cup of tea, visiting experts like this trustworthy dentist in Cookeville could also help as they can suggest cosmetic procedures to enhance your smile.
Working Out to Release the Tensions
One of my favorite ways to ease stress is to get in a much-needed workout. Exercise gets my heart pumping and prevents me from feeling sluggish throughout the day. I’ve been working out consistently enough that I’m past the point of feeling sore the day after—now, I feel sharp, refreshed, and completely energized!
At first, working out can be difficult, but it’s worth the effort—it not only keeps you healthy, but makes you happier! The best part is that you don’t need a gym membership to get exercise; I work out exclusively at home and am able to look after my kids at the same time. It’s a win-win!
