Massey University is one of top universities in New Zealand, providing students with a great deal of study options. MBA is one of the study options Massey University provides, which is known as the most flexible MBA programme in New Zealand. Why? Because Massey University offers three study options for students to choose from, allowing students with different needs to study MBA. The three options are:
Option 1: Full-time MBA
Massey University’s full-time MBA requires students to complete one year of full-time MBA study with 30 weeks of study in New Zealand. Students who successfully apply this programme will obtain a three-year post-study work visa, an open work visa that allows employment anywhere in New Zealand. For those wishing to return to their homeland, New Zealand offers an unusual way to study abroad – to prepare you for a career after your return.
Massey’s full-time MBA is taught in the afternoon/evening over three working days, so you can work up to 20 hours a week in a local company. This will allow you to build your network, reputation in New Zealand and create opportunities for your future career. The faculty includes many professors with long-standing global business leadership experience. This learning is more like “going to work” than “going back to college”.
Although the New Zealand border is temporarily closed, Massey’s one-year MBA programme can start gradually. Up to four courses are available online, with a lot of interaction between lecturers and students. During this time, you can continue to work full-time in your country. After the first four courses are completed, in-person instruction for the remaining six courses will begin after borders open. By then, graduates with our one-year MBA degrees will be able to compete more quickly for management and leadership positions.
Under current regulations, you can study 60 credits online and then complete your MBA with the remaining 120 credits full-time in New Zealand once the New Zealand borders open.
Option 2: Online MBA
Online MBA enables you to take a fully online MBA from anywhere in the world. This flexible study can be completed in two or five years. You take one course at a time for seven weeks, with materials available 24/7. It is highly recognised worldwide and taught in a very practical format, so it is easy to learn while working full time. To ensure good interpersonal relationships, there are personalized group interactions with professors and other students, easily arranged to suit work schedules and time zones. A global student body enables you to build unparalleled connections to develop your leadership skills.
To qualify for entry, you need an undergraduate degree in any subject, at least three years of work experience and an IELTS 6.5. The MBA is affordable (and cheaper to study online) and offers a high-quality qualification from the top 2% of business schools in the world. There are no exams for this degree and all assessments are practical. Consulting reports, work assignments, etc.
Option 3: EMBA
EMBA is for those who have been based in New Zealand for a long time, with at least 7 years of work experience and 3 years of management experience. An EMBA is a transformation that moves people from operations/management into leadership and governance roles. It is a practical pathway that provides you with a wide range of options to move from a single career into leadership and management within organisations. Our national leadership group gathers in Auckland every six weekends for 19 months, followed by a consultation project. It puts you on the right track with many other emerging leaders, allowing you to enter directly into the Governance NZ series of development projects on your path to a company directorship.
As the most flexible MBA in New Zealand, Massey MBA can meet the needs of many students. This is also the reason why it is so popular among students.
