What the Color of Your Car Says About Your Personality

What the Color of Your Car Says About Your Personality

by molly famwat Leave a Comment

The color we choose our car tells us something about ourselves and gives a small glimpse into our personality.

Everyone wants to express their individuality, and the style or color of our vehicles is a way to do that.

Take a walk around your neighborhood, and you’ll find yourself surrounded by a plethora of colors — from the bright red sports cars to the sophisticated black sedans and everything in between.

But do you know what your color of choice says about you? Does your car’s color help you sell your car online?

Here is what some experts think about the most popular colors and why people choose those particular ones.

Red

According to research conducted by The Color Marketing Group, red is associated with power, success, danger, energy, love, commitment, excitement, anger, and strength.

There are many reasons why people like the color red. For starters, it makes us feel powerful because it stands out against black and white backgrounds.

In addition, it stands out against other colors, such as yellow and blue, which are usually associated with calmness and serenity.

Red is one of the most sought-after car colors, meaning you’ll get a better deal when you value your car.

Blue

People associate the color blue with trustworthiness, stability, responsibility, truthfulness, loyalty, modesty, trust, confidence, spirituality, purity, calmness, and intelligence.

Blue cars are often favored by people who are cautious, reserved, shy, conservative, honest, calm, serious, responsible, quiet, modest, conscientious, careful, loyal, and logical.

Green

There are many shades of green, which are associated with different emotions. For example, emerald green is linked to wealth, luxury, status, luck, prosperity, fertility, growth, abundance, and elegance.

However, there are also associations with jealousy, envy, greed, and avarice. On the other hand, lime green is often associated with youth, innocence, carelessness, and playfulness.

Yellow

People are drawn to yellow cars because it represents happiness, success, and wealth.

The color is heavily associated with good luck and positive energy. It also doesn’t hurt that sport cars look fantastic in yellow.

White

White cars represent purity, innocence, cleanliness, and honesty. People usually choose white cars as their wedding cars for those reasons.

But even if there is no wedding ceremony, white is still a great option for representing love and affection. White is also a symbol of hope.

Black

Black cars signify power, authority, and responsibility. Because black is such a strong color, black cars typically require less maintenance to look good.

In ancient times, kings were often buried in black coffins because black was considered a color of power.

So, if you want a vehicle that gives off a powerful aura and requires little attention, black might be the way to go.

Gray

Gray cars tend to be used by those who want something classy without being flashy.

Gray is a safe combination of colors, so you won’t attract unwanted attention when driving around town.

Silver

Silver cars are a great combination of luxury and sophistication. The color gives off a sleek aura that attracts just enough attention without making you stand out.

This is the reason why executives or celebrities usually choose silver cars.

Orange

Orange cars represent friendship and fun. There’s nothing better than spending time in a fun car with friends and family.

Orange is a warm color, so expect to run into lots of smiling faces while cruising down the road in orange.

Brown

Brown cars convey a feeling of earthiness and sturdiness. Some even consider brown vehicles to be “safe” cars.

Brown tends to be a favorite among truck drivers and people who love adventure.

Purple

The colors red, blue, green, yellow, and black are associated with royalty, wealth, religion, power, and authority.

Purple, however, is an even cooler color. Purple symbolizes true royalty and luxury. A study conducted in 2010 found that people associate purple with high social status and trustworthiness.
