Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ Galaxy’s Edge will take you inside the set of the Star Wars films, as we can all agree. Over 40 years after the original trilogy came out, Star Wars still has relevance today. Galaxy’s Edge offers a legacy lightsaber for just about anyone, whether they are new fans or originals.

WHAT ARE LEGACY LIGHTSABERS?
Star Wars Legacy Lightsabers are incredibly detailed replica lightsaber used by popular characters such as Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader.
The cost of these souvenirs can range from $139.99 to $400.00 based on the style you choose. Depending on whether you want a 26″ blade or a 36″ blade, the blade (the light-up part) will cost you another $45 to $50.
WHERE YOU CAN BUY LEGACY LIGHTSABERS
DOK ONDAR’S DEN OF ANTIQUES
Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiques in Galaxy’s Edge is the primary location where Legacy Lightsabers can be found. This building is recognizable if you have previously visited Galaxy’s Edge due to its giant foot and green, alien-esque statue. In Black Spire Outpost, near Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, you’ll find Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities.
It is very common for the line outside the store to wrap around outside into the hot Florida sun. The shortest line at this store is at the end of the day just before closing, so I recommend waiting until that time.
STAR WARS TRADING POST
At Disney Springs, guests could briefly purchase Galaxy’s Edge merchandise despite Disney originally confirming it would be within that area. As part of the reopening post-pandemic, they offered this special offer.
Disney Springs is once again carrying select legacy lightsabers in September of 2022 after disappearing for a while. The newer styles of lightsabers like the Cal Kestis and Plo Koon were noticeably missing when we were there.
KEYSTONE CLOTHIERS
The light sabers for sale has been available at Keystone Clothiers on Hollywood Boulevard since early 2022. Several retired hilts have been replaced by these new sets, which come with a hilt, blade, and belt clip. Although these sets are not packaged in plastic boxes like the hilts, they are shaped in the same way.
ITEM CONTAINS DISNEY LEGACY LIGHTSABER
You will need to buy a blade unless you are purchasing a Legacy Lightsaber collectible set. There are two shorter blades included in the Kylo Ren lightsaber, but there is no full-length blade because it is not included.
Add-ons available to guests include:
- $49.99 – Blade 36″
- $49.99 – Blade 31″
- $44.99 – Blade 26″
- Stand for light sabers
- The shoulder carrying case
- Attachment for belt clips
Savi’s Workshop doesn’t offer Kyber crystals for guests to customize their Legacy Lightsabers, which is a common misconception. Since Legacy Lightsabers are not custom-built, further customization cannot be done with them like with Savi’s Workshop lightsabers. Basically, what you buy is what you get.
DOK ONDAR’S ANTIQUITIES DEN: WHAT TO EXPECT
It is common for the second level to be used for special items that are kept away from the public, so once you’re inside, you’ll only have access to the first level. If you look up, you’ll be able to see what’s around you. Among the treasures you’ll find are blasters, taxidermy, helmets, and a lot more straight from Star Wars. Although you won’t be able to explore it, looking at these cool artifacts will give you the feeling that you’re in a galaxy far, far away.
In spite of Dok Ondar’s impressive appearance, he doesn’t really interact with guests much. Even so, it doesn’t diminish the total immersion you feel once you enter the building.
HOW DO YOU KNOW DOK ONDAR?
Dok Ondar may seem unfamiliar to you. The Star Wars universe has not explored much about him, however, the film Solo: A Star Wars Story and the comic book series based on Galaxy’s Edge briefly mention him.
HOW ABOUT A CUSTOM LIGHTSABER?
We recommend Savi’s Workshop if you would like to purchase a lightsaber but don’t want to go with a Disney Legacy Lightsaber. A lightsaber making workshop is included in this workshop experience. A box will be given to each guest containing:
- There is one hilt
- There are two emitters
- A pair of pommel caps
- Sleeves: 4
- Two sets of activation plates and switches
As well as choosing their kyber crystal color, guests can choose which sets they want from the sets. A variety of colors are available, including green, blue, and violet.
Upon check-in, advanced recommendations must be submitted and payment must be made. You will need to pay $219.99 plus tax per lightsaber that you build.
THE BEST PLACES TO BUY LEGACY LIGHTSABER ONLINE
It is sometimes possible to purchase Legacy Lightsabers from shopDisney online. Online you can get Legacy Lightsabers from Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and Obi-Wan Kenobi for the same price you can get them in the parks. The availability of these items is hit or miss.
The lightsabers are also available from ShopDisney, but only as sets that include a display stand and belt clip for certain characters like Rey or Mace Windu. In the case of the Mace Windu set, for instance, there is a limit of one item per guest, and the price is $219.99.
For those who can’t make it to Walt Disney World to buy them in person, Amazon is your best bet. There are a number of lightsabers being sold on the website, including those owned by Ahsoka Tano, Kylo Ren, and Rey. Despite the pricey tag, some Amazon retailers offer payment plans like Affirm that let you make monthly payments, making it easier to swallow.
